Hxtal NYL-1

Hxtal Nyl-1 was the first epoxy adhesive to be developed specifically for conservation and restoration use. A two part, low viscosity epoxy it has exceptional non-yellowing properties combined with high strength characteristics.

All epoxies are not created equal. The leader amongst them all is HXTAL! An ultra pure resin that stays perfectly water white (clear and transparent) for the lifetime of the piece, even in direct sunlight.
HXTAL comes as a two part epoxy and for maximum adhesion and reliability should be weighed out 3 parts of "A" to one part of "B" by weight. For economical use of Hxtal it is recommended scales with two decimal points are used, this allows just a few drops to be mixed and used at a time.

Hxtal is not just an adhesive, it can also be used as a filler for small chips and break lines in any ceramic object. By mixing Hxtal with fumed silica, talc and powdered pigments non-yellowing and virtually invisible repairs can be achieved without the need to paint or glaze. Depending on the amount and type of filler powder used a Hxtal filler can be made to into low viscosity filler allowing it to soak deep into wide cracks and joins or as a very high quality, translucent modelling putty which is capable of producing the finest detail.
When mixed with the correct filler powders and if care is taken by smoothing the uncured hxtal with the correct blend of solvents there is no need to use abrasives to achieve a level fill.

Hxtal is supplied as a kit consisting of 1 bottle of resin and 1 of hardener. Pipettes, mixing containers and mixing sticks are supplied with the kit.
