Cold Clay

Cold Clay has been developed specifically for use by restorers of antique ceramics. The natural grade of Cold Clay has slight translucency enabling cracks and small chips to be filled without that bright white filler line which you allways get with white putties.

Cold Clay is the most “Clay like” of all the epoxy putties, it can be used just like potters clay, it can even be thrown on a potters wheel. Cold Clay is softer and easier to work than any other putty. Most epoxy putties are difficult to smooth with water but just like real clay Cold Clay can be smoothed easily with or without using water. It can even be diluted to a slip consistency just by adding tap water.

Cold Clay does not need to be fired or baked it will harden overnight to a clay like finish. Hardening times can be reduced significantly by applying moderate heat, a hairdrier or old domestic oven is ideal. Once cured Cold Clay can be filed, carved or sanded and polished to a perfect feather edge.

Available in 9 colours, white and natural colours are available in two diferrent viscosities, a thick modelling putty for filling chips and modelling flowers, hands etc and a softer easily spreadable grade for filling fine cracks or to skim over imperfections.
