Bog Filler

Bog is a filler with a similar consistency to toothpaste.
Manufactured from polyester/acrylic resin containing fine powders and pigments. Bog is made specifically for the restoration of porcelain, pottery and ceramics. Bog is hardened by the addition of a paste catalyst (supplied) which is added to the filler at a ratio of 100:2 just before use.

Makes a superb and very quick filler for all ceramics. Easily spread in thin or thick layers, to fill tiny chips to large missing areas. Once cured (approximately 15 minutes) can be sanded to a perfect feather edge.
Many restorers use bog as a skim over other fillers or just for filling those annoying pin holes or less than perfect Milliput type fills.
Can be mixed with powdered pigments or dyes to make coloured fills. Bog white contains a high concentration of white pigment therefore is only suitable for colour matching paler/pastel shades. For colour matching darker shades Bog Natural should be used (see below)

Bog White is available in 250g 500g and 750g jars. Each jar is supplied with more than enough hardener paste so you don't run out.

Tools can be cleaned using Acetone or IPA

Bog Filler is also available in translucent/natural. This type of Bog is used to make darker fast setting coloured fills. Using powdered pigments or dyes Natural Bog can be colour matched to any shade

This coloured fill can be smoothed and polished and then left as a museum type repair or the fill can be painted and glazed in the usual way.

Using a colour matched filler especially on darker coloured ceramic bodies enables the restorer to use much less paint to cover the fill allowing less of the original ceramic to be oversprayed.
